IT HELPS BOTH THE POSTERS AND THE CONSUMERS TO MODERATE THE EXPERIENCE TO THEIR LIKING!!!!

Putting a silly impact font caption over art doesn’t change the art beyond adding an additional joke. Reposting it without credit is still a crappy thing to do and nobody should ever do it.
It takes less than a minute to include a link to the source, or if the source is a Tumblr post, you can reblog the original with your funny meme caption. But when you put a caption over the image it can fuck with reverse image searchers like Google or Saucenao and make it impossible for them to find the actual source
Respect artists, it really isn’t hard in the vast majority of cases. Anyone who says it’s “too difficult” to get a source for stuff they want to post is being a lazy asshole.
(Also I hate that this doesn’t go without saying w some people so I have to say this, but to anyone who reads this please do not go out of your way to find the person who left these tags and harass them. Just leave them be, okay?)
